Check out these things to do with the kids in Country Antrim, whether it's building sandcastles on Ballycastle Beach, or playing castles at Antrim Castle Gardens, I've got you covered, and best of all it's free!
I'm still adding to this list, so keep checking back, please get in touch if you've got any hidden gems to recommend, or if you have a picture to replace any that I'm missing (ie the places that have words). As a thank you, I'll send a 20% money off voucher to spend in the shop for anything that gets used.
I've tried to make sure that all the details on here are up to date, but please do double check on the websites I've linked to before you travel in case anything has changed. Although I'd love to be able to travel to every place on here, time and practicalities dictate that I've sourced a lot of information from 3rd parties so some information might be incorrect (Please let me know if you spot anything that is so that I can amend it).
Especially important: double check parking costs to avoid any nasty surprises on a day out that was supposed to be cheap, and obviously, be careful if you're visiting places with kids, especially where the terrain is dangerous (ruins, cliffs, beaches, slippy paths etc).
Happy adventuring!
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, made over 40,000 basalt columns jutting out to sea. The visitor centre is not free, check out this post on the Irish Road Trip to find out how you can visit for free.
Guided tours are free (donations appreciated), to see over 46 aircraft including WW2 fighters and cold war era fast jets.
Make sure you book in advance here. (You can't just turn up).
Picturesque gardens, a motte, play area, woods, castle ruins, watch tower, ponds, and a fairy garden.
A great one for any Game of Thrones fans. This avenue of Beech Trees was planted by the Stuart family in the 18th Century, and remains an impressive sight.
1.2km in length, the popular beach is mainly sand with some shingle. It has a promenade at the western end, and a seasonal lifeguard service provided by the RNLI.
191 hectares of mixed woodlands, colourful gardens, walking trails and coastline. There's also a maze and an adventure playground. There are paid for activities available including a miniature railway, and walk on water balls.
A beautiful waterfall walk in a wooded glen. Please note, there are lots of steps involved. Some brave folks venture a dip in the pool.
A play park with 3 defined sections for toddlers, juniors, and older kids. Including a big pirate ship to play on.
You know what the kids would love to be filling in as you're exploring new places? An epic activity pack! And it should be filled with easy activity ideas, and stickers, and personalised!
