Check out these things to do with the kids in Buckinghamshire, whether it's visiting Quainton Windmill, or letting off steam at Wendover Woods, I've got you covered, and best of all it's free!
I'm still adding to this list, so keep checking back, please get in touch if you've got any hidden gems to recommend, or if you have a picture to replace any that I'm missing (ie the places that have words). As a thank you, I'll send a 20% money off voucher to spend in the shop for anything that gets used.
I've tried to make sure that all the details on here are up to date, but please do double check on the websites I've linked to before you travel in case anything has changed. Although I'd love to be able to travel to every place on here, time and practicalities dictate that I've sourced a lot of information from 3rd parties so some information might be incorrect (Please let me know if you spot anything that is so that I can amend it).
Especially important: double check parking costs to avoid any nasty surprises on a day out that was supposed to be cheap, and obviously, be careful if you're visiting places with kids, especially where the terrain is dangerous (ruins, cliffs, beaches, slippy paths etc).
Happy adventuring!
400 acres of woodland, heathland and meadows, with special cycling facilites, a sculpture trail, play areas, and herons nesting in spring.
There's a huge amount of paid for activities here, including watersports, treetop trails, a splash park, and archery. There's also lots to do for free, including a large playground, and 100 acres to explore on foot, or bike. Check out the turf laybrinth, and stone circle.
Lots for kids to do in these woods, including a Gruffalo trail, a play trail, and a kids play area.
A public park with 23 acres of space. There's a large play area, a skate park, and a brick-in-grass maze. The Thames runs through it, and there's a wetland area where you can spot wildlife including kingfishers.
Visit on Sundays 10 - 12.30 to see the sails turning (if there's enough wind), and have a peek inside. (volunteers dependent) There's a pretty steep stairs/ ladder to climb inside, so not great for little kids. Donations are very appreciated so they can continue the restoration work.
Learn about the town's past with walking trails, quizzes, and competitions. Check out this Eye Spy trail around the town. Explore the exhibits including the history of the town's fire brigade, and the toy factory.
You know what the kids would love to be filling in as you're exploring new places? An epic activity pack! And it should be filled with easy activity ideas, and stickers, and personalised!
