22 Free Days Out and Things to Do With Kids in Cambridgeshire
Check out these things to do with the kids in Cambridgeshire, whether it's visiting the Polar Museum, or letting off steam at Nene Park, I've got you covered, and best of all it's free!

I've tried to make sure that all the details on here are up to date, but please do double check on the websites I've linked to before you travel in case anything has changed. Although I'd love to be able to travel to every place on here, time and practicalities dictate that I've sourced a lot of information from 3rd parties so some information might be incorrect (Please let me know if you spot anything that is so that I can amend it).
Especially important: double check parking costs to avoid any nasty surprises on a day out that was supposed to be cheap, and obviously, be careful if you're visiting places with kids, especially where the terrain is dangerous (ruins, cliffs, beaches, slippy paths etc).

Green spaces includes a play area, water play area, and an interactive tree trail.
A museum and art gallery with a diverse collection, and loads to do for kids. Have a look at their activities page. Check out their free Play Make Saturdays event. h
Check out Cromwell's hat, as well as portraits and personal items. There's a number of family trails and activities, including replica items, and dressing up opportunities.
Learn the community's social history with a variety of displays, audio points, and interactive elements. It includes a Fenland cottage, privvy, and a Forge.
Telling the stories of Huntingdonshire from 160 million years ago to the present day. There's a gallery trail available from the front desk, and activity bags available to borrow for free. A museum telling the story of polar exploration, and life in the Arctic, including showcasing active research. Check out the learning resources on the website, including printables, activity packs, craft ideas, video and audio.
A family friendly museum, with lots of activities for kids including finding dinosaurs, a book trolley, poetry board, colouring, trails, and online activities.
A stufy of humanity's history, both on a local and a global scale. There are family friendly trails, packed full of things to do, and objects to find.
Explore Greek and Roman sculptures with one of the largest plaster cast collections in the world. There are lots of family activities, including trails.

Explore the huge collection of scientific instruments and models relating to astronomy, navigation, medicine, and more.
A haven for heritage and wildlife, check out Ferry Meadows Country Park to explore woods, meadows, and lakes, and 3 play areas. Nearby Rural Estate is steeped with Roman history. Check out the events programme, as well as the list of trails.
A rich mosaic of wildlife habitats including lakes, riverside, meadow, reedbed, scrub, and woodland. A great place to get up close and spot nature. See here for events at the education centre.
Explore 150 acres of open grassland, mature woodland, and lakes. There's a playground, a mountain bike course, and plenty of wildlife to try and spot. Check out the events page.
Grassy meadows, 2 playgrounds, woodland, lakes, a visitor centre, and a cafe to explore. Look out for nature. Check out Wild Minds, a free teenage mental health referral programme.
There are 2 walking trails, to guide you along points of interest, as well as a playground inclucing a zip wire, and a play boat.
A formal garden with a toddlers play area, water feature, Eel artwork, and a bandstand where bands often play in the summer. While you're there, check out the Roswell Pitts River Walk nearby.
41 hectares of wildlife oasis set within farmland. There are 3 hides, and trails leading you through reedbed, fen, chalk, grassland, and scrub.
There's a lot of open water and wetland, as well as grassland, and woodland to explore. Look out for the huge variety of wildlife, including otters, dragonflies, ducks, bullfinches, and lapwings. A picnic area, many viewing points, and 3 nature trails.
The area used to be the largest lake in southern england, until it was drained in the 1850s to create farmland. Now there's a network of pathways to help you explore, including the lost lake discovery trail.
The paddling pool is open May - September, weather dependent. It's next to a playground, there's also a multi-use-games-area, and outdoor gym equipment in the park.
Miles of walking and cycling tracks through beautiful landscape, with lots of trails to follow round the lakes and through woods.
