Check out these things to do with the kids in Ceredigion, whether it's building sandcastles at Mwnt Beach, or playing knights at Aberystwyth Castle, I've got you covered, and best of all it's free!
I'm still adding to this list, so keep checking back, please get in touch if you've got any hidden gems to recommend, or if you have a picture to replace any that I'm missing (ie the places that have words). As a thank you, I'll send a 20% money off voucher to spend in the shop for anything that gets used.
I've tried to make sure that all the details on here are up to date, but please do double check on the websites I've linked to before you travel in case anything has changed. Although I'd love to be able to travel to every place on here, time and practicalities dictate that I've sourced a lot of information from 3rd parties so some information might be incorrect (Please let me know if you spot anything that is so that I can amend it).
Especially important: double check parking costs to avoid any nasty surprises on a day out that was supposed to be cheap, and obviously, be careful if you're visiting places with kids, especially where the terrain is dangerous (ruins, cliffs, beaches, slippy paths etc).
Happy adventuring!
Head to the lake (directions are on the website) at 2pm in winter, and 3pm in summer to watch the red kites being fed. You will see up to 150 of the birds. There's also a playground, a toddler playground, and lots of trails to follow.
A sheltered bay, with a sandy beach, great for spotting wildlife including dolphins and seals. There's no shops nearby, so pack everything you'll need. There's also a little waterfall, and a quite precarious cliff walk which is best avoided if you've got little kids.
Built around 1110 as a fortress. It's very close to the town, with good views. There are plenty of nooks and crannies to explore in the ruins, as well as old cannon.
A charming museum located in an old theatre, with 3 floors of information and displays.
Walking trails take you through dune walks, coast path, beach, farmland, and saltmarsh. No swimming is allowed due to the tides. Check out the visitor centre for an exhibition about what to see.
A wooded estate in a stunning landscape, there are 9 miles of restored footpaths offering up plenty of choices for walks. The landscape includes waterfalls, woods, riverbank, chain bridge.
The visitor centre is full of displays showcasing the local marine wildlife, including seals, bottlenose dolphins, and harbour porpoise.
You know what the kids would love to be filling in as you're exploring new places? An epic activity pack! And it should be filled with easy activity ideas, and stickers, and personalised!
