Check out these things to do with the kids in Clackmannanshire, whether it's learning history at Dollar Museum or letting off steam at Greenfield Park, I've got you covered, and best of all it's free!
I'm still adding to this list, so keep checking back, please get in touch if you've got any hidden gems to recommend, or if you have a picture to replace any that I'm missing (ie the places that have words). As a thank you, I'll send a 20% money off voucher to spend in the shop for anything that gets used.
I've tried to make sure that all the details on here are up to date, but please do double check on the websites I've linked to before you travel in case anything has changed. Although I'd love to be able to travel to every place on here, time and practicalities dictate that I've sourced a lot of information from 3rd parties so some information might be incorrect (Please let me know if you spot anything that is so that I can amend it).
Especially important: double check parking costs to avoid any nasty surprises on a day out that was supposed to be cheap, and obviously, be careful if you're visiting places with kids, especially where the terrain is dangerous (ruins, cliffs, beaches, slippy paths etc).
Happy adventuring!
A country park and nature reserve, with beautiful walks round the reservoir. Have a stroll round the sunken garden, and see what animals you can spot.
A beautiful walk up a glen, complete with a smuggler cave and waterfalls along the way. There are some very steep bits, and unprotected drops.
Find out all about the local history of this ancient village, including a miniature model version.
Mature parkland with sunny glades and woodlands. There's a playground which includes trampolines, swings, and a sand pit.
Located next to each other, the parks have 2 playgrounds, including a creative play area in the former boating pond combining sand and water play. There's also other play equipment to climb on and explore, a multi use games area and lots of open space.
Beautiful woodland set in the grounds of what used to be Alva House (the house is no longer there). There's a playground, walking trails. Keep an eye out for Roe Deer.
Head for an atmospheric walk passing deep gorges, cascading waterfalls, and a ruined castle. (Pay to enter the castle, although it's currently closed).
Learn about local history, with exhibits including a children's corner, local prehistoric finds, granny's kitchen, and a model of Dollar Railway Station. Check the website for opening times, and to see the latest exhibitions.
You know what the kids would love to be filling in as you're exploring new places? An epic activity pack! And it should be filled with easy activity ideas, and stickers, and personalised!
