I've tried to make sure that all the details on here are up to date, but please do double check on the websites I've linked to before you travel in case anything has changed. Although I'd love to be able to travel to every place on here, time and practicalities dictate that I've sourced a lot of information from 3rd parties so some information might be incorrect (Please let me know if you spot anything that is so that I can amend it).
Especially important: double check parking costs to avoid any nasty surprises on a day out that was supposed to be cheap, and obviously, be careful if you're visiting places with kids, especially where the terrain is dangerous (ruins, cliffs, beaches, slippy paths etc).

A visitor centre run by the National Trust teaching the history and culture of Llŷn through audio, videos, sculptures and artwork. There's lots for kids including a wildlife safari, finding hidden animals with a UV torch, and creating your own poetry.
Situated at the north end of Snowdonia National Park. The visitor centre has interactive screens. It's a stunning place to take a walk and have fun in nature.
Known as the UK's premiere mountain bike trail centre. Head to the visitor centre for a playground. Check out the website for waymarked trails of varying difficulties, through woodland, waterfalls, and to viewpoints. There's also an animal puzzle trail.
A historic mining town in the heart of Snowdonia National Park, with forests, lakes, rivers, and mountains. Have a stroll round the fascinating town, or take a spectacular walk up to Cwmorthin. You can also pay for activities including the Antur Stiniog Bike Park, Bounce Below, Ffestiniog Railway, and Llechwedd Deep Mine Tour.
Long sandy beaches, with a promenade, a small paddling pool, and a recreation ground nearby. Keep your eyes peeled for harbour porpoises and bottlenose dolphins. While you're there, check out the nearby Nant Gwernol Forest for a beautiful woodland walk past waterfalls.
There are trails of varying diffilculties to choose from when exploring this nature reserve, some taking you round the lake and parkland, and others leading up to the summit. Learn about the area, and the legends of Idris the Giant in the visitor centre.
A rare Atlantic Oak woodland covering 765 acres, fringed with dramatic waterfalls. Follow waymarked trails through these lush woods, and see if you can spot any Ravens, Otters, Badgers, Foxes, and other animals.
Cycle or walk round the beautiful lake, and through peat land, and woods. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife, especially Otters, and Ospreys.
