I'm still adding to this list, so keep checking back, please get in touch if you've got any hidden gems to recommend, or if you have a picture to replace any that I'm missing (ie the places that have words). As a thank you, I'll send a 20% money off voucher to spend in the shop for anything that gets used.
I've tried to make sure that all the details on here are up to date, but please do double check on the websites I've linked to before you travel in case anything has changed. Although I'd love to be able to travel to every place on here, time and practicalities dictate that I've sourced a lot of information from 3rd parties so some information might be incorrect (Please let me know if you spot anything that is so that I can amend it).
Especially important: double check parking costs to avoid any nasty surprises on a day out that was supposed to be cheap, and obviously, be careful if you're visiting places with kids, especially where the terrain is dangerous (ruins, cliffs, beaches, slippy paths etc).
Happy adventuring!
A beach that feels like it's been transported straght from the Caribbean. Golden sands, and crystal waters. It's only accessible via a half a mile walk from the carpark. There are no facilities on the beach, so make sure you take everything with you.
A beautiful sandy beach, with seasonal lifeguards. While you're in the town, you can also explore the ruins of Tenby Castle, walk or swim to St. Catherine's Island (entry fee applies), visit Tenby Museum (entry fee for adults, kids are free), and spot the lifeboat station.
A tiny hermit's chapel built into the cliff. There are narrow steps to get to it. The road to get there runs through MOD land, and so is sometimes closed. Check via the details on the website before you travel. While you're there, check out the nearby Broadhaven beach, and the Lily Ponds.
A neolithic burial chamber, dating back for over 5,000 years. It's built from the same Pebrokeshire blue stones that Stonehenge is from.
A gallery and visitor centre, hosting changing exhibitions from national connections with a connection to the landscape.
The ruins of some medieval bishops country retreat. There's lots of space for exploring and burning off energy. There isn't a lot of information boards, so if that's your thing then you can read some more history about it here.
A nature reserve home to animals including otters, kingfishers, and wading birds. Theres a 'learning through play' area indoors with colouring, drawing, quizzes and other activities. Outdoors there are 4 themed nature trails, an adventure playground, picnic areas and cycle hire. Check out the website to see the activities programme.
You know what the kids would love to be filling in as you're exploring new places? An epic activity pack! And it should be filled with easy activity ideas, and stickers, and personalised!
