7 Free Days Out and Things to Do With Kids in Renfrewshire (Updated 2025)
Ahoy there money-savvy adventurers.
If you're looking to for a fun and free day out, then check out these things to do with the kids in Renfrewshire. Whether it's looking out for otters at Jenny's Well Nature Reserve, or building sandcastles at Boden Boo, there's options here to suit all ages.
I've tried to make sure that all the details on here are up to date, but please do double check on the websites I've linked to before you travel in case anything has changed. Especially important: double check parking costs to avoid any nasty surprises on a day out that was supposed to be cheap, and obviously, be careful if you're visiting places with kids, especially where the terrain is dangerous (ruins, cliffs, beaches, slippy paths etc).

Over 100 acres of woodland, and moorland. There's 2 playparks, and an abundance of wildlife to spot.
Walk or cycle the Semple Trail, feed the ducks, and enjoy spending time in nature.
Stunning scenery of the high heather hills, moorlands, and walks to the now disused Barytes mine. Enjoy wildlife spotting on the nature trails.
A park with a toddler playground, as well as a playground for older kids, an outdoor gym, a pond, a walled garden, and open space. There's also a pay-for model railway.
A hidden slice of tranquility and calm, there are 2 routes to follow round the woodlands and ponds, both are short and easy. Keep an eye out for wildlife including otters, herons, deer, and eels.
A park with loads to do for kids including a duck pond, floral gardens, BMX course, skate park, tennis courts, sensory garden, cycle tracks, and a playground.
