Show the Squad Some Love

You know the friends I'm talking about. Those ones who always have your back, will always show up when you need them, and who will always pick you up, dust you off, and remind you why you're so absolutely brilliant. Sometimes our friends are our family.

Here's some easy ways to show them a little love:

  • Host a gathering in her honour. We're so used to saving all the parties for huge occasions. What about celebrating the little ones with more low-key affairs. Like if she got a promotion, or got out of a toxic relationship, or turned 36 years and 4 months and you just feel like she deserves a celebration. It doesn't have to be huge. Maybe it's just the 2 of you sharing a takeaway while you watch Love Island.
  • Plan a surprise outing. Preferably on a day when childcare can be organised. Tell your friend when it will be (the last thing mums need is last minute surprises messing up the weeks plan), but don't tell her what you'll be doing. Then take her somewhere she'll love - maybe a meal at a lovely restaurant, or to a play, or a concert.
  • Offer to babysit the kids so that she can have a lovely day or evening out somewhere.
  • Help her with a project. Go out of your way a little to do some research, provide feedback, share it with others, physically help, or whatever else your friend needs to make it succesful.
  • Make a 'reasons why you're amazing' jar. Fill it up with litte memories, quotes, and reasons why she's so great and gift it to her so that she can read through them when she's finding things a little tough.

Send her a Card

Send her a card that's been hand made especially for a brilliant mum. Beautiful enough that she'll want to keep it forever.

Make the message heartfelt, tell her exactly why she's amazing, and how much she adds to your life.
